Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, Krishna Kumar Singh has filed an FIR against Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty at the Rajiv Nagar Police Station in Patna on July 28th, 2020. Police have filed the complaint under Section 306 of the IPC for abatement of suicide. Other sections of IPC invoked against the actor include Section 340, 342, 380, 406 and 420. Rajput’s father has alleged that the actress, who was also a very close friend of his deceased son, had taken a sum of 17 crores from him, adding to which, he held the Chakraborty as the reason that drove Sushant toward the extreme step.
Many media platform have reported on a plausible romance blooming between Rhea and Rajput in the past, but the couple had never confirmed the rumors. Two months before the unfortunate incident, Rhea was quoted stating Sushant was just a close friend. However, recently, she took to Instagram and urged Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate a CBI enquiry into this case and introduced herself as Sushant’s girlfriend.
Though Mumbai Police have been investigating Sushant’s death, his father did not lodge any complaint with them earlier. He was also summoned by the Mumbai police last month for questioning, but he said he held no suspicions against anyone. It hence came as a shock when the news of him having registered an FIR with Patna police broke in media. Rhea Chakraborty’s father, mother, sister, brother, and manager have also been accused of harassing Sushant and defrauding him.
Rhea, allegedly, controlled Sushant’s debit and credit cards and has transferred money to the bank accounts of her family members. His Kotak Mahindra bank account was exhausted by her, as per the complaints of Krishna Kumar Singh. The Chhichore actor, interested in organic farming, intended to invest in agriculture. However, Rhea was opposed to the idea. She threatened him of leaking his medical conditions to the media, as per reports.
The investigation is underway and was being carried out by the Bandra Police who had already interrogated Rhea Chakraborty. Rhea had informed the Police that Sushant had closed his contract with Yash Raj Films and was urging her to follow suite. As of now, Mumbai police has interrogated over 40 people, including Mahesh Bhatt, in relation to Sushant’s death but there is still no clarity on this alleged suicide. As per Inspector General Sanjay Singh, a four-member team has been sent from Patna to Mumbai to will get the case diary and collect other documents.
