It has been over a month since Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely and unfortunate demise, but the debates surrounding him cease to subside. On July 28th, the late actor father lodged an FIR against his actor girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty at Patna’s Rajiv Nagar Police Station. Sushant’s father KK Singh has not only accused Rhea of abatement of suicide, he has levelled allegations of financial exploitation and giving incorrect medical treatment to Sushant as well. Rhea’s family, including her father, mother, brother, and sister have also been named in the FIR.
Referring to this FIR, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been demanding justice for the deceased actor, and has been very vocal against the gang that drove him to the verge, took to Twitter to share her thoughts. The Twitter handle managed by her team shared a message stating Sushant’s family do not trust the Mumbai Police. She also took a sly jibe at Padmavat actress Deepika Padukone and said, “Bollywood’s ‘repeat after me’ gang, depression ka dhanda chalane wale should be remanded @deepikapadukone.”
Though Sushant Singh Rajput father has repeatedly rubbished media claims that his son had been suffering from depression, some Bollywood celebrities had already announced that it was a case of suicide instigated by depression.
On the day of Sushant’s death, when mourning fans shared their condolences with each other, Deepika Padukone took to her social media to share her own story of depression that she had already shared multiple times before on multiple platforms since the past several years.
Fans of the late actor viewed it as an immensely inappropriate message. At a time when they were mourning Sushant Singh Rajput, the actress could have done better than making it all about herself and diverting public attention. Just a few days later, she made another post on suicide and why people choose it, against reminding that she has had the tryst with depression some five years ago.
Deepika Padukone runs a foundation that focuses on various types of mental health concerns. The foundation is called The Live Love Laugh Foundation and the actress had gone out promoting it in several occasions. While fans and family of Sushant see a conspiracy behind his death, an A-rated Bollywood actress trying to force the notion that it was a case of suicide due to depression does not sit well with many.
Team Kangana Ranaut is known to have taken many celebrities to task. After insinuating that Mumbai Police is not investigating or interrogating the real Bollywood bigwigs, Kanagana Ranaut’s team slammed Deepika Padukone for making a mockery of Sushant’s demise by linking it to depression.
