After making a record of amassing 12 Million dislikes on its official trailer launched on YouTube, Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial return, Sadak 2 becomes the lowest-rated movie of all times with a score of 1.1 on the popular IMDb site.
The film starring Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, and Aditya Roy Kapur in central roles have clearly failed to impress the masses. Sadak 2, premiered on Disney+ Hotstar at 7:30 pm on Friday, August 28th and was slammed by netizens from the very first hour. It was tagged “boring,” “terrible” and “lackluster,” by audience bodies.
With its 1 IMDb rating, Sadak 2 leads Ram Gopal Varma’s Aag, Ajay Devgn’s Himmatwala, and Abhishekh Bachchan’s Dhrona. Critics have not been very generous to the film either, and labeled it “unbearable”.
Taran Adarsh calls the movie a waste of brand “Sadak”.
Rohit Jaiswal adds adjectives like “slow-paced” and “illogical” to the already established “unbearable”.
“TORTURE of EPIC proportion” says Film Critic, YouTube content creator and influencer, Sumit Kadel.
Sadak 2 has also been panned for promoting (allegedly) nepotism in the movie industry. All the actors in the cast hail from filmy families that command great influence over the industry. That the movie released in a time when the industry is being scrutinized for nepotism didn’t help. Mahesh Bhatt is also facing the audience’s wrath due to Chhichhore actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden suspicious death. Angered fans of the deceased actor are seeking justice for him and slamming Bhatt’s directorial appeared to be one of the ways the average movie-lover could have avenged this death.
