The country’s most loved industry and the biggest players of this industry are in trouble. Yes, we are talking to Bollywood. Trouble has not left B’town since the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. And now there are allegations of substance abuse and linked drug cartels. That Rhea Chakraborty has been arrested for alleged procurement of drugs and the actress has revealed 25 names from the industry, that includes names of Sara Ali Khan and Rakulpreet Singh is common knowledge.
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut appeared on national television and alleged that 99% of Bollywood stars consume drugs. The girl from the hills have attacked quite some ire from her fraternity for making such accusations and is now left alone with none from her peers standing by her.
Whether her allegations are true or not is for the NCB to investigate and establish or refute. However, when it comes to Bollywood and addiction, Kangana Ranaut is not the first and only person to broch up the issue.
In an article published on a leading daily back in January 2015, Amitabh Bachchan was quoted making some equally shocking revelations about his industry. Big B has essayed the roles of drunkards in many movies on the part. Amar Akbar Anthony, Do Anjane, and Hum are a few among them. But he swore that he stays sobers while enacting such sloshed scenes. “There were many roles in the past where I had played such scenes but in every film the situations and the characters are different. Thus changes the way you perform on screen,” he said. He also added, “There are some actors who drink before doing such a scene.”
Though the Sharabi Actor didn’t name any, according to a feature by Desi Martini, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Rajkummar Rao, and Ranvir Singh had gulped down alcohol before shooting scenes that demanded they looked inebriated in Devdaas, Raja Hindustani, City Lights, and Ram Leela respectively.
