Bollywood actresses doubling as models and promoting beauty products is nothing new. Hema Malini, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit have all done the same. The new generation of Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Pandey can also be seen posing to sell their favorite cosmetics label. Kareena Kapoor Khan has also endorsed a long list of beauty and skincare brands like Head & Shoulders, Vivel Soap and Lakme.
However, it seems that the consumers of Lakme are not very excited about the Veerey Di Wedding star shinning as the brand ambassador of their favorite cosmetics and skin care company. Recently, Lakme had posted a beautiful birthday wish to Kareena Kapoor Khan, as the mother-to-be turned 40 on September 21st, 2020. It was only expected that the fans of the actress would join Lakme in extending their wishes for the birthday girl.
On the contrary, Facebook users crowded up the comment section of Lakme’s official Facebook page and demanded that they removed Kareena from the rank of being Lakme’s face.
Some fans opined that the actress was arrogant while few were done with Bollywood as a whole for the repeated allegations of connections with drug cartels which have been stemming out from the investigations related to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. A once loved and admired industry, seems to be losing it touch on its fans. The audience is not going gaga over the celebs they once adored with all their hearts. This is the reason, Bollywood celebrities working as influencers or ambassodors won’t cut it for the brands anymore.

Will they ever be able to win their audiences back is for the times to unravel. But that this topsy-curvy situation has changed the way an average cine-goer used to look at the cine stars is apparent. The stars will have to put in a lot of effort to win the lost love and respect. Arrogance is certainly not going to help them in this journey.
Coming back to Kareena Kapoor Khan and Lakme, the actress remains to continue as the brand ambassador of the beauty brand, and there are no chances or talks of having her replaced.
